*** BUYER BEWARE or How to know if a horse is a true Marsh Tacky ***

In various publications and online websites, there have been incidents of horses listed for sale as Marsh Tackies that are not full Marsh Tackies. As of April 9, 2011, there are only 276 registered Carolina Marsh Tackies. Before buying a horse that is purported to be a Carolina Marsh Tacky, ask to inspect the horse's registration papers.  Registered Carolina Marsh Tackies will have registration papers issued by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy and those papers will have a raised seal.  "Half" Tackies are NOT registered and CANNOT be registered as Carolina Marsh Tackies. Only registered Carolina Marsh Tackies are listed for sale on this website.
