Welcome to the Carolina Marsh Tacky Association Official Home Page.  Here you will find information on the critically endangered Marsh Tacky Horse.  There are also links on our "Contact Info" page to other organizations engaged in saving the Marsh Tacky.

The CMTA would like to thank Equus Survival Trust and American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) for their part in promoting the Marsh Tacky and helping our association get started.

We are a non profit organization whose sole purpose is to promote and preserve the Marsh Tacky Horse.

Our current goals:
Create a stud book on Marsh Tackies
Make the "Tacky" the South Carolina State Horse

Make your next ride a part of Colonial American History and help save a critically endangered breed.
